New Blog!!

Hello my friends,
I wanted you all to know that I've created a new blog. It's about football in Turkey (or Turkish football). In this blog, I will write about the news in Turkish football, the matches that Turkish clubs will play in UEFA Europe League and UEFA Champions League. And also about the players being transferred. But of course I'll write all these things in English :) not in Turkish!!

-The website is: www.turkishfootballbyalikerem.blogspot.com
or if you want you can find this blog when you look at my complete profile.

If you are interested in football and want to learn some things about Turkish football, then I suggest you to look at this blog. You can agree or disagree with me, it doesn't matter :) . You can write some comments as well. Your comments are important for me to improve my writing and to know your opinions.

-I hope you'll like my other blog :)

Sorry..It's A Little Bit Late...

First of all I'm sorry that I couldn't have written this post before. I couldn't take the chance to write something good here (and I was little bit lazy :) )... First I have to say that even though I'm so happy here, in Turkey, I also missed Queenswood and my friends so much. I had very good time there and I missed so many things there, even the school and the lessons :).. But here I'm not eating pizza and potatoes anymore (very rarely) and I'm waking up later. I'm fine here and I turned back my standard life in Istanbul. Again, everything is normal here..not so different not so interesting..But change is (almost) always good! :)

-I'll miss almost all the people at Queenswood! I hope I'll see you again..one day...

My Last Trip to London!!

This trip was one of the most important trips that we've had so far because it was my last trip and I was expecting to see something very impressive (and also buy some more presents for my friends).

First we went to Shakespeare's Globe (theatre). This theatre was built in 16th century but then was burned and was finally rebuilt. This theatre showed us very well what was life like in 16th century. The things; costumes, props that were used and the conditions in those days (no microphone, not so much light, etc.) were some of the things that I was interested in.

After we finished the tour in the theatre, the next step was to the Tate Modern Museum. In this museum we were in groups and we had to choose 5 objects to present in the next day's class. After we walked around the museum, we went to some inshops at the museum and bought some souvenirs.

I think the trip to these two places were very good because it made me have an opinion about modern art. Generally I like art, I like the way that artists express their thoughts and opinions with their imaginations. So I liked the most pieces of art in Tate Modern and also Shakespeare's Globe. Both locations made me use my imagination and think about those years. In short; even though I got bored sometimes, I really enjoyed my last trip to London!! :)

Future: What Is Waiting For Us?

Future... We always hear some things about the future. Of course most of us know what "future" means. Future is our fate, something which is waiting for us, something that we will have to face after a few time passes. I think there's one more question that we have to ask ourselves! Do we really know what will be waiting for us? I don't think so.

I always try to make some guesses about future, about next year, about next month, maybe next week, maybe next day, even one hour later. But generally I cannot be successful, I cannot guess the future. Of course I cannot guess who I will be in 2019. Or what the situation of the world will be in 10-15 years. But I know something that might help us to "make guesses" about the future: Statistics. Statistics can help us to estimate what will happen. And there are some other people called "fortune teller"s who claim that they know the future. But I don't want to talk about them. :)

By looking at the statistics and what has happened in the latest years I can say that world's future is not so bright. As th technology develops, nature goes bad. Today various animal and plant types are about to extinct beacuse of the pollution. This pollution can be air pollution, water pollution, etc. Buildings and factories are everywhere. People use the natural resources as they want and destroy them. This fact harms the natural circulation. We can easily see what changed in last 10 years and if it continues like this, in next 10 years everything will be much worse, life conditions will be terrible for everyone.

Maybe I'm so pessimist about the future. I always try to be optimist but statistics and the big change in the nature make me think pessimistically. As a solution way; I think that people should be warned about the danger waiting for us. Also people have to see the difference between the nature in the old years and the recent nature. Otherwise, life will be much more difficult for people. Imagine! What if all the people would be walking on the streets with an oxygen mask? Or what if so many animal types would extinct? That would be intolerable. If we don't want our future to be like this, we should do some things to prevent the bad going of the future!

Slumdog Millionaire: Teaches A Lot What A Difficult Life Is!

Hello everyone,

Today, in this post, I will be writing about Slumdog Millionaire and making some comments about it. I've chosen to make comments on this movie because it is well-known and so many people around the world have watched it.

This movie is about a child called Jamal living in India. In his life, he almost always only suffered and had only a few good moments. One day he accidentally participated in the contest "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" contest in India. After this contest, his life totally changed because he had answered all the questions correctly and became a millionaire. But how? How can it be possible for an uneducated 18-year-old child to be a millionaire? Maybe the answer is just a basic word: Fate!

He was able to answer all the questions correctly because he was kind of lucky in the contest. He knew all the answers thanks to his experiences. The answers to the questions were the bad things happened in his life. There were only a few questions that he didn't know the answers of them. But at these moments his luck helped him to choose the right answers. Finally he answered the last question correctly too and became a millionaire.

This movie showed me to never give up in life. Despite all the terrible experiences, he finally won the prize for his patience. And this movie also made me realize that life is much more difficult for many people. I can say that I'm one of the luckiest people in the world because I almost have everything I want.

In short, I suggest all the people to watch this movie because it makes you think about many facts happening in the life. I can easily say that this movie deserves all the prizes that it has won so far.

Our trip to Windsor Castle

To be honest, before we went Windsor Castle, I hadn't heard so much about this place. I only knew that this castle is a historical place. After a long bus journey (again -_-) we arrived there. We walked through the shopping city to get to the castle. After we went inside the castle I met with my friends again and started to walk around. First we (6 people) thought that there were so many places that we had to go but after a few time passed, we understood that we were wrong! After half an hour we sat on a bench and waited there -_- ... Then I wanted them to come with me to travel inside the castle but 4 of them refused. Then we (2 people) went inside the castle. It was so interesting there and I really liked there. Most of the decoration inside were gold! After we went outside the castle, we went to St. George's Chapel. Almost everything was interesting for me there!

After we finished our tour in castle, we went outside for shopping. We had our lunch in Pizza Hut, which was a great fun! At 3 o'clock we left there and arrived at Queenswood at 4.30. I can easily say that this experience was really really goood!! :)

Being in England...

First of all, I can say that I've been staying in London at Queenswood for a long time. Of course I got used to London; the weather in London and my life conditions at Queenswood. So, now I can say that I know the similarities and differences between London and my home town Istanbul. (Of course the facts that I've noticed as well.)

-The weather is very different here. Almost everyday it rains. But one of my friends in Istanbul said that it's very hot there.
-Foods are very different too! We cannot find Turkish food here in this campus!
-The roads always make me confuse. In Turkey drivers always sit on the left side, but here the drivers sit on the right :-S . The directions are different as well.
-I can speak Turkish with only a few people here!! (But I don't think that it's a problem. Actually it's good and beneficial.)
-People are always nice here. We can oftenly hear some words like "thank you", "sorry", etc. I think this shows the politeness in England.
-There are no rubbish bins on the street, I mean not so much.

These are the facts that I've noticed so far. Actually I noticed many things but I only remembered these ones.

I didn't miss Turkey so much since the last Monday. Last Monday I suddenly realized that I had a life in Turkey too :) and I remembered everything in Turkey. Actually I'm satisfied with my lifestyle at Queenswood. We always do some things; school, excursions, activities, etc. So, I can say that I missed "having free time" :) !!

This is the first time I came England and my impressions about England (London) are very good. I really liked London and Queenswood. I'm saying that everyone can come here, Queenswood. It's intensive but fun: less intensive more fun!! :)
